Everything Kids

This page is dedicated to the crafts & projects I have completed with, and for, Wyatt & Weston.

Project #3:  Wyatt's Garden
Materials:
* Gardening Soil (1 bag- $6)
* Flowers (2-3 "cartons" of Marigolds- $15 )
* Rocks for border (found around property)
* "Stepping stones" (found around property)
* Pinwheels ($1 each)
* Welcome frogs (gift from grammy)
* Gardening Tools (Target $ bins- $7)
 - 4 tools + duck watering can + 2 buckets
TOTAL = under $30!

I started creating this space by pulling weeds, raking, adding the garden soil, lining the perimeter with rocks, and adding the stepping stones.  Grampy & I waited for Wyatt to wake up before planting the flowers, adding the pinwheels, and placing the welcome sign.  We wanted him to be a part of it & more than anything I wanted him to participate in finishing this space.

When Wyatt saw his garden space for the first time he immediately walked into it.  I gave him his new gardening tools (Yes, they are metal so he can actually dig.  I do keep a careful eye on him.:) and he sat down in the corner of the garden & began to dig!  Made my heart smile.  Then, we planted the flowers (Wyatt helped with the first one, then continued to dig!), he placed the pinwheels, and we added the welcome froggy sign (which he immediately waved to).  Before heading inside, Wyatt watered the flowers with his new watering can.

I'm not kidding when I say every time we go outside Wyatt gets his gardening tools out of the cupboard in the garage and heads straight for his garden to dig and water (or "dirt") the flowers.  If you have the space, the garden is a "must do".

Project #2:  Upcycled Crystal Light Containers

Project #1:  Photo Collage
I found this idea on Pinterest and decided to attempt it for Wyatt's 1st birthday.  The most time consuming part of the project was choosing the pictures I wanted to include.  It was so difficult choosing a handful out of a year's worth of pics.  :)  I followed the directions on the link below.  The collage now hangs in the playroom and I can't wait to make one for Weston next winter!
